A writing challenge

on June 4, 2014

I’m already late in starting this, but better late than never, right?

After a very LONG winter, the sun is now shining and the grass is green.  Love, love love summer!!  I really need to find more time to get out there and enjoy.

I’ve been working close to 60 hours a week between my two jobs, but the reward is those Dr. bills are almost paid!  My plan is to evaluate the two job thing at year end.

My resolutions are pretty much on track, with the exception of the creative time I wanted.  But, I’ve never claimed to be perfect.

My kids are well and thriving in their own lives.  As much as I miss them, I’m proud of the adults they’ve become.  Ali was promoted to Sgt last month, and is currently enjoying the accommodations that comes with that part of her life.  She will be moving to Appleton in a couple weeks as her and her boyfriend begin the next chapter of their relationship.  Derek is still loving his job as manager of a retail store.  He’s got a new girlfriend and she’s wonderful.  I don’t think I could have picked a better one for him!

We’ve got a bike trip planned for this summer.  Not a long one this year, only a weekend, but looking forward to the time away with friends.  Perhaps next year we will be able to get away longer, depending on jobs etc.

I’ve been tracking my calories pretty faithfully with some success.  I’m down 6.5 lbs so far.  Plenty more to go, but I’m happy with the small steps!
