A new year – new resolutions?

on January 1, 2014

Do you make resolutions for the New Year? I usually make the same ones every year, but somehow they don’t seem to last beyond Jan 15. This year, I’m going to put them out here, in the hopes that those who read this, will help hold me accountable.

Here goes….
1. Stop procrastinating. It would be nice to have Christmas presents ready ahead of time, rather than just before they need to be wrapped.
2. Organize my files. I’ve got a box of papers and a file cabinet that need to learn to get along. I’m thinking if I just get started, it won’t be so tough to maintain? (my dislike for filing extends to my job too bleh)
3. Use my treadmill at least 4 days a week, for 30 min at a time to start. Was doing pretty good with that, then I listened to the bed calling me back after Steve went to work.
4. Eat healthier. I’d like to give up caffeine, but I won’t plan on that one. I only have one can/day, so that isn’t so bad, right?
5. Do something crafty/creative once a week. I have scrapbooks waiting to be done (sorry Ali) and drawers full of fabric bought with good intentions. Time to get back to that.
6. Take on the Goodreads 2014 reading challenge, if it comes out. I LOVE to read, so this should be an easy one to keep up with.
7. Develop a 12/24 month budget and stick to it. Would love to have a couple things paid off by the end of 2014.

So there they are. And, done before Jan 1, so maybe I’m already working on #1?

I’m 100% with you on #3 & #4. I’m ok with no caffeine. I can’t drink it anymore since it reacts with my medication and it’s not pleasant. #5 is a great idea, I love it! #6, what is the 2014 Challenge? I’d say you already have a great start on your list posting this tonight. Good job!! I’m posting my 2014 list tomorrow. Still fine tuning it. ~Gina

The 2014 Goodreads challenge is now on their site. I think it’s the same as last year? # of books you plan to read, unless I missed something.
